WELCOME TO CON+AIR
The CON+AIR project has now ended. Project outputs can be found in the reports section. EnvEcon would like to thank the EPA, DCCAE, NILU, the project steering committee and all those who engaged with the project.
CON+AIR, is research project that explores the challenges that arise where climate policy ‘CON’flicts with ‘AIR’ policy. The project is being carried out by a partnership of the Dublin-based research consultancy EnvEcon, and the Bergen Norway based, Norwegian Institute for Air Research.
CONAIR is funded by the Irish EPA and runs for two years from May 2017 to April 2019. The project focuses on potential emissions from residential sector heating and personal transport in the Republic of Ireland. Depending on the combination of fuels, technologies and social practises applied, these sectors can contribute to increased emissions of Nitrogen Oxides (NO & NO2) and particulates (PM10 & PM2.5) both of which contribute to adverse health conditions at certain concentrations.
